Thanksgiving – 2012

Time to reflect on the challenges facing injured and disabled Michigan workers.

We want to wish everyone a happy and healthy Thanksgiving. We know how difficult the holidays can be for individuals who are fighting for workers compensation benefits.

Some of our clients have trouble putting food on the table. Financial assistance from family members can make all the difference.

Many of our clients also need help around the house and home care is provided by wives, husbands, brothers, sisters, uncles, aunts, and even children. Please take some time to recognize these important people during the holiday.

Planning for the future

There are many options to consider if you have been seriously injured at work. Some of our clients use vocational rehabilitation to transition into another career.

It is also possible to settle your workers compensation claim for a lump sum cash payment. This will allow you to do your own medical treatment and vocational rehabilitation. You may want to use this money to start a business.

If you can never return to work, consider applying for Social Security Disability (SSDI). These are cash payments from the federal government for disabled workers.
