Video shows worker saved from trench collapse

Oregon OSHA posts amazing video on YouTube showing a worker saved from a trench collapse.

I saw an amazing YouTube video posted on Reddit last week. It was uploaded in 2009 by Oregon OSHA and shows what happens when safety protocols are not followed. The OSHA compliance officer arrived on the scene just in time to warn an employee about the dangers of an improperly shored trench. It collapsed just as the employee was ordered out and he was saved from harm. The cave in measured roughly the size of a small car.

Here is our 2 cents on the video. Work accidents are going to happen but many can be avoided. Employee safety must always be priority #1 in the workplace. We encourage Michigan workers to contact MIOSHA if safety concerns are not being addressed. Kudos to Oregon OSHA for its good work!
