Michigan Mileage Reimbursement Rate 2019 Published

Workers’ Compensation Agency (WCA) published Michigan mileage reimbursement rate effective January 1, 2019.

Michigan Mileage Reimbursement Rate 2019Individuals on Michigan workers’ compensation should be paid a mileage reimbursement for all medical appointments. This includes doctor visits, hospital stays, diagnostic testing, IMEs, and physical therapy. The Michigan mileage reimbursement rate for 2019 is $0.545.

Keep track of all trips to and from medical appointments on a piece of paper. Write down the date, location, and roundtrip miles. To calculate the reimbursement amount, add up the total miles and multiple by the Michigan mileage reimbursement rate for 2019 (0.545). Send mileage logs to the insurance company each week. Penalties can be sought if not paid within 30 days of becoming due.

Travel expenses for meals and lodging can also be reimbursed. This is available when a person must travel a long distance for medical care. Current meal rates for select cities (All of Wayne County, All of Oakland County, Ann Arbor, Auburn Hills, Detroit, Grand Rapids, Holland, Leland, Mackinac Island, Petoskey, Pontiac, South Haven, Traverse City) include $10.25 for breakfast, $10.25 for lunch, and $24.25 for dinner. Meal rates for all other cities include $8.50 for breakfast, $8.50 for lunch, and $19.00 for dinner. Reimbursement for lodging is $85.00 plus taxes each night.
