Tell 3 friends and/or family members about your personal experience with Michigan workers’ compensation and get them out to vote!
The 2016 U.S. presidential election is finally coming to its dramatic conclusion. Voters will decide whether Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump will be our next president. While this decision will have profound consequences for our nation, it is not the only vote you should be worried about.
Workers’ compensation has become a political football in Michigan. Special interest groups have spent large sums of money to change the law. This has resulted in a difficult burden of proof and less benefits paid. Insurance companies can now reduce or stop wage loss just because they say a person can work somewhere else.
It is no secret that 2011 amendments were rammed through in less than 90 days. Hearings were held during week of Thanksgiving when people were on vacation. It took only 3 months to change nearly 100 years of workers’ compensation law.
Elections have consequences and now is the time to make your voice heard! Vote in this election and support candidates who will protect the integrity of the workers’ compensation system.
There are 110 members of the Michigan House of Representatives. 40 incumbent representatives are not running for re-election in 2016. Real change is coming to Lansing and your vote will make a difference.
We challenge you to speak with 3 friends and/or family members. Tell them how workers’ compensation has been decimated and encourage them to vote down ballot. Fight special interest money with your truth!
