Russia bans anonymous blogging and we re-post some of our more politically charged articles to support free speech on the Internet.
The Huffington Post reports on a new law passed by the Russian parliament tightening control over blogging. If you have more than 3,000 daily visitors then you will be forced to register with a state agency for media oversight. These measures will also apply to social media websites. Pretty scary stuff!
This is certainly a blow to free speech and effectively bans anonymous blogging. We have decided to re-post some of our more political articles in solidarity with our Russian bloggers.
