Federal holiday recognizing the labor movement and its economic and social achievements.

Our law firm will be closed on September 3, 2018 in observance of Labor Day. This gives our staff and lawyers a chance to recharge over a long holiday weekend.

Labor Day is the unofficial last day of summer and it is observed on the first Monday of each September. Family barbecues and summer fun are on the agenda for most people.

We like to use this annual blog post to recognize the labor movement and encourage political action.

Labor unions have traditionally been at the forefront of the battle for better wages and improved workplace safety. Even employees who are not in a union indirectly benefit from their advocacy.

Michigan lawmakers recently approved “right-to-work” legislation and workers’ compensation reform. Both measures were a step backwards for workers in our state.

We have another gubernatorial election coming in November 2018. This is our chance to reverse some of these negative policies and restore fairness for workers in Michigan.

Please learn about the candidates running for state legislature and governor. Get out and vote for those candidates who put Michigan workers ahead of big corporations and insurance companies. Ask them where they stand on these important issues.
