Michigan Workers Compensation Agency (WCA) releases magistrate disposition statistics for first quarter of 2016.
Statistics published by the WCA show magistrates have given just 1 open award, 3 closed awards, and 6 denials so far this year. The time period covers January 1, 2016 until March 31, 2016.
An open award is when a magistrate orders payment of continuing wage loss and medical benefits. A closed award is when a magistrate orders the payment of some benefits for a specific period of time. Denials result in no payment of workers’ compensation.
