You’re not alone. Our Michigan workers’ comp lawyers have been called the best in the state, and we pride ourselves on providing you with care, trust, and responsiveness.

Michigan Workers Comp Lawyers (Law Offices of Alex Berman, PC) wish all of our blog readers a Merry Christmas!

Our law firm is closed today in celebration of Christmas. We hope you have a joyful and stress free holiday.

Please also take some time to reflect on the challenges facing our clients. Many of whom will be struggling just to pay the bills. Here are three ways you can help make a difference.

1. Get politically active

Insurance companies and big corporations have spent enormous amounts of money lobbying our elected representatives. Recent legislative changes have severely impacted workers comp across the state. Many of our clients have found their benefits sharply reduced or cut-off entirely. We encourage you to make your voice heard by personally contacting your state representatives and voting.

2. Push back against misconceptions

Tell your personal story to friends and family members. Workers comp is not welfare or charity. It is insurance designed to protect both the employee and the employer in the event of a work accident. Nobody gets rich from workers comp and benefits are stopped if you refuse favored work.

3. Give disabled employees a chance

Consider offering “reasonable employment” to disabled employees.  This is  work within a person’s restrictions that poses no threat to health and safety. Give someone a chance to be productive despite his or her limitations.

To speak with one of our workers comp lawyers in Michigan, call (855) 221-2667 for a free consultation. There is never a fee unless you receive additional benefits or a settlement.

Alex Berman is the founder of Michigan Workers Comp Lawyers. He’s been representing injured and disabled workers exclusively for more than 35 years. Alex has helped countless people obtain workers comp benefits and never charges a fee to review a case.
