Michigan Occupational Safety & Health Administration (MIOSHA) asks employers to stand up for workplace safety and health.
MIOSHA is having its annual “Take A Stand Day” on August 8, 2018. More than 125 professionals will be visiting high-hazard industries to provide one-on-one consultations. No citations or fines will be issued to participating employers. All serious conditions must be corrected. Employers have until July 20, 2018 to request a visit.
We applaud MIOSHA for its efforts. Small investments towards safety and health pay big dividends in the long run. It has also been shown to reduce overall workers’ comp costs for employers. Doing the right thing is a good business strategy and should be encouraged.
We also want to encourage employees to contact MIOSHA directly with any safety and health complaints. Individuals can request withholding of their name from the employer. Business profits should never come before employee safety!
Michigan Workers Comp Lawyers never charges a fee to evaluate a potential case. Our law firm has represented injured and disabled workers exclusively for more than 35 years. Call (855) 221-2667 for a free consultation today.
